Looming Skies depicts a tranquil beachscape with a sense of impending rainfall. The upper portion of the artwork displays ominous, dark cloud formations, creating a feeling of anticipation and intensity as the storm draws near.

Below the stormy sky, a horizontal strip separates the towering clouds from a hint of dark in the distance, suggesting a distant headland. The majority of the canvas is occupied by a sandy expanse of beach.
