One Late Summer

Oil painting on canvas 38.2 x 23.6in (97 x 60 x 2cm)

I'm lucky enough to live near to this view across the cornfields towards the Taw Estuary in North Devon, England. I get to study the changing colours of the fields as the crops grow and see the effects of the breezes rippling through them. The light is forever changing on the river waters and the clouds that scud across the distant headland. I've called the painting 'One Late Summer' as any sentence that begins this way will have an interesting story and memory attached to it.
